Lucknow, August 14, 2025 – In a charged address during the Uttar Pradesh Assembly’s monsoon session today, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath outlined his government’s ambitious development projects while launching a pointed attack on the Samajwadi Party (SP), redefining their PDA slogan as the “Parivar Development Authority.” Speaking during a 24-hour debate on the state’s Vision 2047 document, Yogi emphasized transformative infrastructure, tourism, and industrial growth, while accusing the SP of focusing solely on family-based politics.
Yogi highlighted the state’s infrastructure boom, spotlighting the construction of 22 expressways, with seven operational, five under construction, and ten proposed, forming India’s largest expressway network. He singled out the Meerut-Prayagraj Ganga Expressway, set to be the country’s longest, reducing travel time to under eight hours. Other projects include the Purvanchal, Bundelkhand, and Gorakhpur Link expressways, aimed at boosting connectivity and industrial investment. He also noted the Rapid Metro from Meerut to Delhi and the near-completion of Jewar International Airport, with 16 airports currently operational and five more under construction. A multimodal logistics hub in Dadri and junctions for the Eastern and Western Freight Corridors were cited as game-changers for logistics and employment.
On tourism, Yogi underscored Uttar Pradesh’s rise as a cultural hub, with its share in national tourism growing from 13.1% in 2016 to nearly 20% in 2024. He highlighted the Maha Kumbh’s record 66 crore visitors and major upgrades to Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Ayodhya Dham, and Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad. New tourism circuits, Ramayana, Krishna, Buddhist, Shakti, and Jain, along with heritage initiatives in Bundelkhand and Vindhya, were presented as drivers of jobs for local businesses like taxi drivers and hotel operators. He also mentioned a heliport in Kapilvastu and efforts to repatriate a Buddha relic to strengthen the state’s Buddhist identity.
Yogi touted industrial progress, noting that registered factories grew from 14,169 to 27,295 since 2017, with investment proposals worth Rs 45 lakh crore and projects worth Rs 15 lakh crore creating jobs for over 60 lakh youth. The One District One Product (ODOP) scheme and 77 GI-tagged products have elevated traditional industries globally. He highlighted the MSME Policy 2022, with 96 lakh units generating 1.75 crore jobs, and a rise in industrial loans from Rs 3.54 lakh crore in 2017 to Rs 9.24 lakh crore in 2024–25.
Criticizing the SP, Yogi called their PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) a deceptive slogan, rebranding it as “Parivar Development Authority” to highlight their alleged focus on family interests. He accused SP chief Akhilesh Yadav of being a “frog in a well,” blind to global progress and fixated on nepotism. Yogi claimed the SP’s rule was marked by lawlessness, extortion of traders, and neglect of traditional industries, contrasting it with his government’s merit-based job creation and support for artisans. He also slammed the SP’s 2016 proposal to build a Duryodhan memorial in Mathura, accusing them of ignoring development in Mathura-Vrindavan.
The speech, part of the Vision 2047 debate, underscored Yogi’s commitment to making Uttar Pradesh India’s growth engine while sharpening the political divide with the SP ahead of future elections.
