Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, August 4, 2025 — A local Samajwadi Party (SP) leader, Farhad Alam Gada, faces legal trouble after a video surfaced showing him teaching children politically charged alphabets at his “PDA Pathshala” in Ramnagar, Saharanpur. The First Information Report (FIR), lodged at Dehat Kotwali police station, stems from a complaint by Maan Singh, a resident of Kallarpur Gurjar village, who accused Gada of using education to push political propaganda.
The viral video shows uniformed children from a private school being taught phrases like “A for Akhilesh,” “B for Babasaheb,” “D for Dimple,” and “M for Mulayam Singh Yadav,” referring to SP leaders and B.R. Ambedkar. The complaint claims this politicized curriculum sparked public outrage, accusing Gada of misguiding young students. Gada defended his actions, stating the PDA Pathshala, named after SP’s outreach to backward, Dalit, and minority communities, aims to teach both basic education and “socialist values.” He expressed plans to expand such schools across Saharanpur.
The FIR charges Gada under Section 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for promoting enmity and under the SC/ST Act. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav condemned the FIR, calling it an attack on education by the BJP government. “Even the British didn’t file FIRs for teaching. This exposes BJP’s anti-education stance,” he posted on X. SP MP Ram Gopal Yadav also defended Gada, questioning what was wrong with teaching names like Akhilesh or Babasaheb.
The controversy has ignited debates about the role of politics in education. While Gada insists his school supports underprivileged children, critics argue it exploits young minds for political gain. The investigation continues as authorities examine the PDA Pathshala’s operations and its impact on the community.
