Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, August 3: In a major push towards modernising the police force and strengthening communication networks within the state, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday distributed appointment letters to 1,494 newly recruited personnel in the Police Telecom Department. The event, held at Lok Bhavan in Lucknow, marks another step in the state government’s mission to create an efficient and tech-driven law enforcement system.
Addressing the newly inducted recruits, CM Yogi congratulated them and emphasised the importance of technology in modern policing. He stated that the Police Telecom Department plays a critical role in ensuring seamless coordination across various units of the police force, especially in times of emergencies and during large-scale operations.
Today, law and order cannot be strengthened without advanced communication systems. You are not just joining the police force, but becoming part of a modern, tech-enabled policing model,” said CM Yogi during his speech.
Focus on Transparency and Merit
The Chief Minister stressed that the recruitment process was completely transparent and merit-based, a principle the state government has upheld in all recent appointments. He praised the efforts of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) for conducting the process fairly and efficiently.
He also reminded the recruits of their responsibility to serve with integrity, professionalism, and dedication. “You are the future of Uttar Pradesh Police. Perform your duties with full honesty, and always place the nation and its people above all else,” he added.
Drive Towards Smart Policing
Highlighting the government’s commitment to transforming the police system into a “smart and sensitive force,” CM Yogi outlined several initiatives that have already been implemented, including the expansion of the Emergency Response System (112), use of body-worn cameras, and digital communication networks.
With over 1,400 fresh recruits in the telecom unit, the force will now be better equipped to respond swiftly to law-and-order challenges and maintain real-time communication even in remote areas of the state.
Women in the Force
CM Yogi also appreciated the increasing participation of women in the police department. A significant number of the newly appointed candidates include women, further strengthening the vision of a gender-inclusive workforce. He said that empowering women in the force enhances both sensitivity and strength in the policing system.
Boost to Employment in UP
This recruitment also aligns with the Chief Minister’s broader vision of providing employment opportunities to the youth of Uttar Pradesh. So far, lakhs of young individuals have been given jobs in various government departments under his leadership.
Conclusion
The appointment ceremony not only filled a vital gap in the Police Telecom Department but also showcased the Yogi government’s continued efforts to build a tech-savvy and people-friendly police force. The newly appointed recruits are expected to begin training soon and will be deployed across the state after successfully completing their sessions.
As the police force continues to embrace digital tools and smart infrastructure, today’s development is seen as a milestone towards modern, responsive, and responsible policing in India’s most populous state.
