Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, August 4, 2025 – A shocking crime has rocked Khuriyapura village in Etawah, where 29-year-old Kaushal Sharma allegedly killed his mother, Yashoda, due to lingering anger over her second marriage. The incident, reported on July 28, has left the society in disbelief as police exposes chilling details. Here’s the latest on this tragic case.
What Happened?
Kaushal Sharma, who lived with his father, Sanjay Sharma, in Agra, harbored deep resentment toward his mother, Yashoda, for leaving his father seven years ago to marry Ramnivas Sharma, a man from the same village. According to police, Kaushal felt humiliated by the social stigma, which he claimed affected his marriage prospects. On July 28, he allegedly lured Yashoda out under the pretense of getting medicine, only to strangle her and crush her with a Scorpio SUV, with help from friends Bobby and Rajat.
Police Investigation and Arrests
On July 29, Yashoda’s body was found near the Khandia bridge in the Balrai area. Initially unidentified, her husband, Ramnivas, filed a complaint, prompting a police investigation. CCTV footage revealed Kaushal was the last person seen with Yashoda, leading to his confession. Police have arrested Kaushal, Bobby, and Rajat, recovering the Scorpio, a motorbike, and three mobile phones used in the crime. Three other suspects remain at large, and police are intensifying efforts to locate them. A burnt mobile phone and other evidence were also found, strengthening the case.
Reactions
The village is reeling from the news. Neighbors describe Kaushal as a quiet man who rarely spoke about his mother but seemed troubled. “We never thought he’d do something so cruel,” said a local shopkeeper. The case has sparked conversations about family disputes and societal pressures in rural areas.
Ongoing Developments
As of now police are conducting further interrogations and searching for the remaining suspects. Forensic teams are analyzing evidence to build a watertight case.
