Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh – In a shocking and sad event that has shaken the locals and officials, a father named Vipin Gupta walked into the District Magistrate’s office on Friday, August 22, 2025, carrying the body of his newborn baby in a simple bag. The sight caused panic among the staff and visitors, as Gupta broke down while explaining how a private hospital’s carelessness led to this tragedy. This story highlights the pain of a family caught in what seems like a preventable loss, and it has quickly spread online through a viral video.
Gupta, who lives in Nausar Jogi village under the Bhira police station area, told officials that his wife, Ruby, was admitted to Goldar Hospital in Mahevaganj for delivery. He was away in Haridwar when her sister and brother-in-law took her there. Soon, he got a call saying Ruby’s health was getting worse. Rushing back, Gupta found out that wrong medicines had been given, causing the baby to die inside the womb. The child was delivered stillborn, and Ruby’s condition turned serious. She was then moved to another hospital, where doctors confirmed the mistake.
Speaking with tears in his eyes, Gupta shared his heartbreak in the video that has now gone viral. “They called me saying my wife’s condition was bad. When I got there, they had already messed up with the wrong treatment,” he said. He added that the hospital staff forced them out after taking payment, leaving him no choice but to handle the body himself. “My wife keeps asking, ‘Where is the baby?’ What do I tell her?” His words show the deep emotional toll this has taken on the family.
The chaos at the DM’s office didn’t last long before action started. Gupta met with District Magistrate Durga Shakti Nagpal and Superintendent of Police Sankalp Sharma, begging for strict steps against the doctors. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Santosh Gupta quickly stepped in, calming things down and promising a full probe into the claims. “We have taken note of this serious matter and started an inquiry,” the CMO said, as per reports.
By the end of the day, authorities had sealed Goldar Hospital to stop any more operations while the investigation goes on. This move came after Gupta’s complaint pointed out the lack of timely care and possible negligence that put both mother and child at risk. Local people are angry, saying this isn’t the first time private hospitals in the area have faced such blame. Health experts warn that without better checks, these sad stories will keep happening.
As the inquiry unfolds, the family waits for answers and justice. Ruby is still in critical care, fighting for her life, while Gupta deals with the loss of his child. This case has sparked talks about improving healthcare in rural Uttar Pradesh, where many depend on private clinics that sometimes cut corners. Officials say the probe will look at medical records, staff actions, and if rules were broken.
