What Happened in Sunheda?
On Sunday night, Head Constable Ajay Kumar, 32, was on leave from his post in Saharanpur’s cyber cell and visiting his hometown, Sunheda village. While out for an evening walk, he met Mohit Arya, a local government primary school teacher. The two had a prior dispute over a cricket match from a week earlier, which had worsened through heated WhatsApp messages. The argument flared up again, and Mohit allegedly ambushed Ajay near a well, shooting him in the stomach. Ajay tried to escape but died on the spot. His family rushed him to a hospital in Sonipat, where he was declared dead. Mohit fled but was later caught after a police encounter, sustaining injuries.
Police Response and Arrest
