Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, August 5, 2025 – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Aligarh today, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation for 186 development projects worth ₹958 crore. The event, held at Numaish Ground, was a significant step toward boosting the city’s growth and infrastructure, earning cheers from locals and officials alike.
The projects cover a wide range of areas, including drinking water, education, and road improvements. Key initiatives include a drinking water restructuring scheme, a forensic science laboratory, and a new degree college in Atrauli. The widening and beautification of the Atrauli-Railway Station road, along with a 900-kiloliter water reservoir, were also announced, aimed at improving daily life for residents. During the event, CM Yogi distributed tablets to students, house keys to beneficiaries of the PM Awas Yojana, and Ayushman health cards, emphasizing the importance of public welfare.
Speaking to a large crowd, Yogi Adityanath highlighted Aligarh’s historical importance and its growing role in education and industry. He praised the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme, which has put Aligarh’s lock industry on the national map. “Adopting local products is the key to prosperity,” he said, urging people to support Swadeshi goods during festivals like Raksha Bandhan and Janmashtami. He also took a dig at past governments, saying safety and development were neglected before 2017, and vowed strict action against those threatening security.
The Chief Minister’s visit began with a meeting at the Collectorate, where he discussed development plans with local MPs, MLAs, and officials. He later inspected stalls at Numaish Ground showcasing government schemes. The event was well-organized, with tight security and a waterproof pandal to handle possible rain. Aligarh’s Divisional Commissioner and District Magistrate presented Yogi with a symbolic ODOP lock, a nod to the city’s heritage.
Today’s event marks another milestone in Uttar Pradesh’s development journey, with Aligarh poised to benefit from these transformative projects. Locals are hopeful that these efforts will bring jobs, better roads, and improved facilities, making their city a model of progress.
